Liz is an experienced General Counsel and business leader with extensive experience leading teams and organizations through strategic growth, change management, and crisis response.

She has served as the long-term Contracted General Counsel for Portland Public Schools, leading the District’s Legal and Risk Management teams through significant transition. She previously served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel for KinderCare Education where she led the legal, government relations, records management, and employee relations teams and served in interim leadership roles in human resources and marketing. Liz led KinderCare through multiple refinancings, strategic planning and, in 2015, the successful sale of the company to the Partners Group. Liz began her career as a judicial law clerk in the Oregon Court of Appeals and, prior to entering the in-house arena, practiced as a member of the Trial Practice Group at Stoel Rives LLP and as an Assistant Attorney General with the Oregon Department of Justice, Special Litigation Unit. Liz also spent several years litigating complex civil cases in Oregon, Washington, and California for business, government, and individual clients.

Liz is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, and California. She currently serves as a trustee and Vice Chair of the Board for Willamette University, and she previously served on and as Chair the board of SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) and on the Oregon Business Association board.
