Liz is an experienced general counsel and business executive with extensive experience leading teams and organizations through strategic growth, change management, and crisis response. Liz has served as long-term Interim General Counsel at Portland Public Schools, leading the District’s Legal and Risk Management teams through significant transition. She also served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel for KinderCare Education, leading the company through multiple refinancings, class action lawsuits, and, in 2015, the successful sale of the company to the Partners Group. While at KinderCare, Liz also led government relations, records management, and employee relations, in addition to serving interim leadership roles in human resources and marketing. Before entering the in-house arena, Liz practiced law for Stoel Rives LLP and the Oregon Department of Justice, principally litigating complex civil cases.

Liz currently serves on the board of Willamette University. Previously, she served on the Boards of SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) and the Oregon Business Association.
